"Mr. Jason White class graduate of 1983. Was quiet and soft spoken. Loved playing basketball from school to Bloomfield Park, to the Park by the Village Apts and even old Hawaiian Gardens Apts. He loved hanging out with everyone. Awesome brother that seemed to be everywhere and nobody ever said anything bad about this brother. He has a younger brother Calvin JR that would graduate a few years later and he too is a cool dude as well. The White Brothers even played basketball against the O'Bannoned Brothers that eventually went onto UCLA and even win the NCAA championships.
"Wow", to think about it we at Artesia have had some and still do have unique and historical people that have gone on to make a serious impression on the world.
I remember years ago sitting with Jason and speaking about how Lakewood and Hawaiian Gardens can get on the map. Well, it has been done and still more accomplishments are coming.
Anyhow, Jason White can tell you some funny stories and adventures that he came across when going through childhood to Jr High at old Killingsworth to eventually High School at ARTA.
Over time alot has changed. I still remember him saying that he should write a book on his experiences living in Hawaiian Gardens to Lakewood to Long Beach Cypress and all around the Southern Californian area.
He had an old black book like a rolledex of all the people that he met along the way. Glad were in the automation age he probably has thousands upon thousands of people he is talking to wishing them all good tidings. That is Jason! When someone was down he was there to pick em up.
Those that attended Artesia the past present and future (if) you ever come across Mr. Jason White you will know you made a friend for life. That is how much he cares about people.
A brother to another brother take care Jay and keep smiling. I wonder (if) he still has his old Schwinn RED CRUISER that he rode to school and through all the neighborhoods where others feared to go? Up and down the San Gabriel River to the Beaches. He chose riding his bike and hanging out with all his budds.
Later to all and all to come along in the footsteps that we have traveled where others before us Keep Up the Traditions and enjoy this day with smiles like Jay would say"
